Under the direction of the Director of Charter Operations and the CAE Governing Board, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of specialized and responsible secretarial and administrative support duties related to the assigned office. In addition, the Administrative Assistant organizes and coordinates office activities and communications to assist the Director with assigned functional areas of responsibility. Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; directing other persons within a small work unit; working with other departments collaboratively and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Encourage collaborations between elementary schools and the middle school.
- Develop, plan, and implement school site programs and activities in accordance with goals and objectives
- Recommend and administer policies and procedures
- Confer with staff on curriculum, instructional, personal, and school related matters.
- Coordinate school activities with related departments and outside agencies and organizations.
- Select and appoint personnel to improve site positions;
- Provide or coordinate staff training;
- Serve and evaluate classroom instructors;
- Work with personnel to correct performance deficiencies
- Implement discipline procedures
- Collaboratively Develop and administer the school's budget
- Direct the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Monitor and approve expenditures.
- Develop the master schedule of course offerings;
- Comply with accreditation guidelines and state requirements;
- Adjust schedule to meet school, students, and staff needs.
- Maintain a safe and orderly school environment;
- Coordinate the safety of students participating in all extra-curricular and after school activities, including inter-scholastic athletics field trips.
- Supervise and monitor student activities such as lunch, passing periods, assemblies, concerts, dances, and sports events;
- Assign supervisory faculty for all student activities.
- Review and coordinate cafeteria services;
- Supervise the free and reduced lunch programs.
- Implement disciplinary procedures and policies related to student behavior and achievement;
- Provide for students, parents, and faculty due process in accordance with the provisions of federal, state, and school system rules and regulations;
- Ensure confidentiality of all student records.
- Supervise the resolution of student, parent and teacher concerns;
- Report pupil progress to parents and appropriate school system offices and Board of Directors periodically.
- Coordinate and supervise the program and student services designed to assist students in social and emotional adjustment to school, address problems at home and outside concerns, and to counsel and assist students gain admission to post-secondary schools.

Requires 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area – administration experience a plus. Must be familiar with standard educational concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish educational and financial goals. Responsible for proper and accurate record keeping and reporting, as well as the overall care, well-being and educational success of the campus students. A large degree of creativity and latitude is required. Guides center through successful NAC reaccreditation and the Quality County for Kids program. Oversees the USDA food program, licensing, and health department requirements ensuring all regulations are being followed.
